To Our Dear and Loyal Audience and Supporters:

In last year’s 2020 brochure, we expressed hope that our mission of providing free quality, live, classical music would resume in 2021.  With the exception of “live,” those hopes were realized.  Indeed, PCO hasn’t been idle! We didn’t close our music folders, lock the performance hall doors, and quit playing together. Instead, like almost every segment of society, we transitioned to the virtual world to continue our mission of providing quality music for our community by volunteer players at no cost.  To do this, we upgraded and enhanced our website: www.pcomusic.org.  Then, we safely gathered together outside in small groups to perform, filmed those performances, and posted them on the website along with past performances.  A highlight of those postings was the recital performance by Julliard student, Audrey Park, our 2020 Young Artist Competition Winner.

We are happy to share that we are back rehearsing on a regular basis in smaller groups, masked and distanced. We are working toward our first live concert on November 5th!  It will feature each instrument group (woodwinds, brass, percussion and strings) in works specifically for them.  It’s been a great way to get back together, be able to maintain safety protocols, and have a concert to perform. To say the least, orchestra members are very pleased to be back!

The November 5 concert will be held at Pasadena High School’s Auditorium.  We’re still in the Covid-19 era, so to ensure the safety of audience and performers, we will require all attendees to be fully vaccinated and wear face masks in the Auditorium.  Many arts organizations have adopted this approach in their return to live performances.

Please mark your calendar for our other concert dates this coming season: January 21, March 11, and May 6, 2022. As has been our tradition to mark the beginning of summer, we hope to be back for our Concert in the Park in early June.

Last year, we asked for your continued support and were humbled by it.  Your donations enabled us to continue our existence virtually with small group ensembles.  With the avid desire of renewing our live concert series, we remain grateful for your continued support.  You can donate via our redesigned website and sign up for our Newsletter for concert updates.
