The Pasadena Community Orchestra is excited to announce that violinist Anais Feller is the winner of the 2023 Young Artist Competition. Anais will perform violin solo in the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto at the May 12, 2023 concert of the 2022-23 season.
About our Young Artist Competition winner. Anais Feller has played the violin for about 11 years. Currently, she is enrolled in the pre-college program at the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles, California, where she studies violin performance with Professor Martin Beaver. At 16 years old, Feller is one of the youngest violinists to appear as a Performance Today Young Artist in Residence (https://www.yourclassical.org/episode/2022/04/25/anais-feller). In April 2022, Feller soloed with the Colburn Virtuosi in the United for Ukraine – North American Conservatories fundraising concert. Feller previously also appeared in the ‘From the Top’ radio program and KPCC Los Angeles radio with her Olive Trio. Feller regularly participates in summer academies in Europe and the U.S. and various chamber music festivals such as the Yellow Barn chamber music festival in Vermont, Morningside Music Bridge International Music Festival in Boston, International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad, Switzerland, Burgos International Music Festival in Spain, Laguna Beach Music Festival in California and the Basically Beethoven Festival in Dallas, Texas. As a soloist, she has been seen with such orchestras as The South Coast Symphony, the Plano Symphony, San Angelo Symphony, and the Colburn Virtuosi.

She also won the second prize and the orchestra prize at the Tibor Junior International Violin Competition in Sion, Switzerland. In 2022, her trio, the Olive Trio, won the gold medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, Indiana. The Trio also won the First Grand Prize at the Chicago International Music Competition. In 2023, Anais won the first prize at Pasadena Show Case string competition and South Coast Symphony Concerto competition.
When she is not playing or practicing her violin, you would likely find Anais Feller in a dance class, as she is also a talented ballerina and contemporary dancer. She has performed in numerous productions of the Nutcracker with both the Dallas Ballet Center in Texas and Ballet Arte in Del Mar, California. She also devotes her time to perform at charity concerts and donor concerts representing the Colburn School.
