The Pasadena Community Orchestra is back to play live for you again! As with all our concerts, it will be free of charge – no tickets required! It will be held in the Auditorium of Pasadena High School. Once again, we will perform as separate groups of instruments. There will be a brief intermission between each group. This concert was originally scheduled for Jan 21. Socially distanced and masked, sections of the Orchestra will be performing the following works for small ensembles:
Igor Stravinsky Selections from Suite for Woodwind Sextet (arr. Micklich)
Giovanni Gabrielli Canzon Duodecimi Toni
P.D.Q. Bach Octoot (ed. Peter Schickle)
Otto Luening The Bass with the Delicate Air
Gustav Holst First Suite in E-Flat (arr. Armstrong)
Carlos Gomes Sonata Para Cordas “O Burrico de Pau”
Covid-19 update: We want the concert experience to be enjoyable and safe for all attendees, and we are still in the Covid-19 era. Los Angeles County and the City of Pasadena have recently relaxed safety requirements for events. But for this concert, we will stick to the requirements previously announced: we requiring ID and proof of full vaccination for entry, and wearing of a face mask while in the Auditorium. There is plenty of space in the Auditorium for social distancing. We will review these requirements again, for future concerts.
Free parking is available on the north side of Sierra Madre Blvd, just west of the junction with Washington Blvd. The Auditorium faces south, and is immediately adjacent to the parking lot.
We hope to see you there!
And in case you missed it, Video recordings of most of the works from the November 5, 2021 concert are now available on our YouTube channel.
